He was one of the first bass players that really moved me. Those double-stops and blisteringly fast triplets rocked my world.

Victor Wooten.

Although one of my more recent influences, I like to think of him as my rudder, steering me towards being the best musician I can possibly be. Just a few minutes with one of his many tutorials can be a life changing event. If you're a fellow low-ender, you have to check him out!

 

Jaco Pastorius.

I think of him as the bass player's Jimi Hendrix. He was a trail blazing legend and without doubt, the best bass player that ever lived.
